Celebrities? The
wonderful pets featured below are recommended by volunteers based on
the most need, special circumstances, or simply overlooked and
waiting
in shelters the longest. Please give them your
consideration. Many
never get a home.
 Cubby
is an adorable red tabby who is almost a year old now and is still
searching for that special family to love -- He can be shy at first,
and appreciates being held "like a football" when picked up. He loves
to have his belly rubbed, once he knows you, of course! He would do
well in a household with another cat or kitten. This pet is

 Meet Sophie,
a lovely 7 year old, spayed female staying at the Humane
Society of
Wayne County's Cat
Adoption Center at the Webster
PetSmart. Sophie came in with her roommate, Sam, after
their owners
passed away. Sam got adopted so Sophie really misses him and
needs a
loving home. She has very long hair, so some of the HSWC
volunteers
paid for her grooming. An adoptive parent will need to maintain her
stylish "hairdo" or she will develop mats! She looks like a Fu
Manchu
Princess! A bit shy, but such a pretty lady! She
needs you!

days; 5-8 weeknights, 10-2:00

great older boy. He doesn't like dogs, and isn’t too fond of

cats so he really should go to a home where he is the only pet. His new

 Sir is a 2-year-old
Lab/pit bull mix who was brought to Lollypop Farm from another shelter
after being found as a stray. He weighs about 50 pounds. He really
loves to play, but when he does, he can get pretty excited and
boisterous, so he should go to a home where the children, if any, are
age 12 and older. Sir needs to meet any dogs in the home before
adoption to make sure everyone will be buddies. He also will need to be
signed up for obedience classes with his adopter, who will get a
discount on Sir's first class at Lollypop Farm! If you'd like to meet

 Katie is a
1-year-old female cat who was abandoned with her kittens and brought to
Lollypop Farm. She is a petite girl who likes being held. Katie stayed
in foster care for a while to raise her kittens, and she is having a
tough time adjusting to the shelter environment. She would love to have

 Roxy,
a Dachshund, Dachshund [Mix], was found as a stray and no one
came for her. She's a very sweet dog who is very inquisitive so that's
probably how she got lost in the first place. Roxy loves her leash
walks but protests when she is crated. She burrows under the covers at
bedtime. Roxy is a very happy, bouncy, little dog who just loves
everyone, her little backside wiggles with joy and she is always up for
a tummy rub!!. See

4 year old, neutered male, Black and Tan Shepherd mix, staying at
the Humane
Society of
Wayne County. Bugsy's
Note: Judy met this handsome fellow with the incredible hairdo at
the PetSmart Adoption Days. She even walked him around the store
- a big deal since Judy has no "hands-on" dog experience!!!!!

 Meet
Chris.
He is a 3 year old male German Shepherd Dog mix. Chris was
found as a stray and ended up at a local shelter. He is super friendly
with people. He needs work walking on a leash, but rides nicely in the
car. Chris is getting along fine with his foster sister Anika.Chris is
a wonderful dog and loves people. He is selective about the dogs he

 Daisey
is 1 year old Basenji mix, loads of personality and character.
She adores going for car rides, she will sit quietly in the back seat
while licking your ears. Daisey is an extremely affectionate and smart
young lady, loves to be loved. She is a great size, 35 pounds.

 Gia is a darling little 14 week old terrier,
possibley Min Pin mix. Mom
is a wire hair terrier, 15 pounds, Dad must have been a Min Pin or
Chihuahua.. This girl weighs in at about 10 pounds. She is shown at
Petco in Henrietta on saturdays from noon to 2. Duffys dogs are shown
in the rear of the store.
She is a typical small dog, full of fun and energy, loves to play with

 Frisky
is a very well behaved little Chihuahua. He is not nippy or yippy and
loves to cuddle with his people. He tries to play with the other dogs
at his foster home but is still a little shy about it. He still needs
to put on some weight but we are happy to say he has put on almost a
pound already!!. They told us his name was Frisky but he wasn't feeling
very Frisky the day we picked him up. . Because of this he is very
skinny but with some
good meals and a warm bed he will be feeling Frisky again in no time!! Another

 Meet a handsome duo
- Tom
and
Jerry (next cube). Click names for more photos. These brothers
(about 1 year old) were adopted as a pair as kittens. Sadly, as we so
often see, people impulsively adopt kittens without considering the
real 15 year+ commitment that it can be. A year later, their adopter
showed up at an adoption event to drop them; she had decided to move
back in with her mother.

 They are sweet and affectionate boys who
even love belly rubs! They deserve a loving, responsible family who can
commit to caring for them for the rest of their lives! They will give

 Meet Molly,
a Labrador retriever! 2/10/10 UPDATE: I’ve been with
my foster family for a few days now and am settling in great. I haven’t
had any accidents in the house or in the crate. I bark if I need to go
outside and you haven’t noticed me by the door. I would do fine as an
only dog or with another dog. I really love my people though, and
playing fetch. I was told I have a ‘soft mouth’ when I’m playing fetch
– I bring the toy, ball, or stick right back to you and let you just
take it from me. So if you like to play fetch, hike, boat and other fun
outdoor activities then I may be the dog for you! Read

 Meet the cat
named "Cat", a 2 year old male. Just
like in the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Cat was found wandering the
city streets and didn’t “belong” to anyone. He loves to be held in your

 Conrad is a
7 month old lab mix and a pure bundle of
joy. With his beautiful markings of white on the chest and white on all
four paws plus his delightful personality, he is sure to steal your
heart as he has done ours. Conrad, our other foster puppy Morti and our
beagle have taken an instant liking to each other and would have played
all night if we had let them. While Conrad was eager to explore his new
surrounds, he quickly settled down for the night and eagerly greeted us

 Sarah Jane is
a beautiful gray cat with white rings around the middle of
her back. She has been with us for over a year and no one understands
why. Sarah Jane is a great cat who has been leashed trained by her
foster family. One of her favorite activities is being carried around
by the children in her foster home and stalking their toes to pounce
on!!

 MacMurry
is a medium haired red and white tabby, male, neutered, age about 4-5
years.
He
is a big lover! The minute you touch him, or, better yet, pick him up,
he purrs. He loves any kind of attention and affection, and will return
it ten-fold! He has ginormous cheeks and even more ginormous feet, with
seven toes on front paws, looking like huge mittens. He is very laid

 Poor Lucy
was thrown
from a car. She wasn't injured but the cruel way
she was treated before she was rescued has made it hard for her to
trust again. She is quickly making great strides with the love from her
foster Mom and now will fall asleep purring in her arms. Humane
